  1. This disc contains the OFFICIAL X Consortium release of the X11R6
  2. Window System.  For your convienience, you get precompiled Sparc
  3. binaries for SunOS 5.3 (Solaris) and 4.1.3.  All binaries are
  4. runnable directly from the CDROM, so there is no need to commit disk
  5. space to X11R6.  This disc also contains utilities to allow you to
  6. compile the source tree directly from the CDROM, saving an additional
  7. 285 megabytes of filesystem space.

  11. X11R6 will work on most Unix systems that support bitmapped displays.
  12. The Following is a list of supported and tested platforms:

  22. You can even keep an earlier release of X11 on your system.  X11R6
  23. installs to /usr/X11R6, so it will not conflict with your previous
  24. installations of X11.
